COVID's IMPACT ON MTZION
Sunday Worship Service
We are currently in the last part of Phase 4: we will have one In-person service with Virtual Worship at 10:00 a.m.
Virtual and phone (audio only) worship services are still available during both services.
The sermon is also available each week on our YouTube Channel.
Q&A (about the current Phase 4)
Q: How do I know that there is space for me in In-person worship? A: In-person Worship is available on a first-come/first-serve basis based on seating availability. This is a normal church practice (even before the pandemic); the difference is that there is slightly less seating than normal because of our continued practice of some social distancing.
Q: Is Mt. Zion going to have people pre-register for a space to sit in In-person Worship? A: We have not plans on using a registration system. The data from the survey suggests that we will have enough seating by offering 2 In-Person Worship Services.
Q: What safety protocols are in place? A: We are using a number of simple and effective practices:
(a) masks are strongly encouraged and available; keep in mind that there are other respiratory viruses that wearing masks helps with;
(b) air flow/volume are maximized;
(c) hand sanitizer is available;
(d) cleaning between services;
(e) hands-free devices and practices;
(f) shortened overall service time; and
(g) Usher Ministry focused on promoting safe practices.
Q: What should I do to help with safety and wellness? A: Stay home is you are sick (even slightly) or have a fever. Courageously encourage others to keep safe practices. Above all, pray.
Q: How do I join the Virtual Service? A: Virtual Worship Service is facilitated through Zoom on any phone, mobile device, or computer (Virtual Worship Service is currently offered on Zoom and YouTube simultaneously).

Why we are cautious about in-person gatherings
But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. (John 4:23)
Our Savior teaches us that we worship God firstly in Spirit and in Truth rather than in buildings or the formalities of great, wonderful tradition.
We take seriously the health of the church membership. At this time, we are experiencing a surge and health care is again threatened with being overwhelmed. Moreover, the efficacy of the vaccines is under stress. We take seriously your health - the health of the Church.
Next to worship, prayer, and sound mindedness, social distancing is still one of our greatest weapons against the spread of the virus. If we each do our part, we can have a major impact in the ceasing of this devastating disease.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen (Ephesians 3:20-21)
